Our Story

 

Village Little Interiors is an Australian-owned furniture studio creating heirloom-inspired pieces for modern family homes. We opened our doors in 2021, born from a simple but defining idea - a love for traditional European sleigh beds, and a recognition that there was a gap in the Australian market for beautifully made versions that were entirely new, not restored or second-hand.

From the beginning, our intention was to create furniture that could be kept within families for generations. Pieces that feel timeless from the moment they are made, rather than temporary or trend-led.

We made a deliberate decision to design and produce every element of our beds from scratch in Australia. This includes traditional details such as hand-turned legs and components, crafted using methods that preserve skilled woodworking practices that are becoming increasingly rare. Supporting local craftsmanship and keeping these techniques alive remains central to how we work.

Our focus is on longevity, simplicity, and thoughtful design, drawing inspiration from quintessential European country life and reinterpreting them for contemporary family living. Each piece is made using solid timbers and non-toxic finishes, with care given to both the home and the hands that make it.

Our hope is that each bed feels like a warm embrace - a gentle reminder to slow down.
